Volunteer Opportunities

  • Social Media & Marketing Coordinator (see below for details

  • Audio Visual Crew ~ setup sound and video equipment, operate equipment during event, assist performers, breakdown equipment after events. Stipend may be available, depending on donations

  • Setup/Breakdown Crew ~ setup tables, chairs, musical instruments, and sound equipment. Heavy lifting and stairs may be involved.  
    Commitment is for 1 hour before and 1 hour after each coffeehouse or event. 2 positions. Stipend may be available, depending on donations

  • The Vibe Creatives ~ our in-house performance & arts troupe -- singers, dancers, musicians, actors, comedians, visual artists and more

  • Street Team ~ hand out flyers at community events or on the streets, usher at events, etc. 


  • Attend Vibe sponsored events at no cost

  • Discount or complimentary food at Vibe sponsored events

  • Attend Team Vibe private events, meet and greets with artists, etc.

Social Media & Marketing Coordinator



We are looking for a volunteer to manage promotions for The Vibe Coffeehouse with an emphasis on social media. Currently, our events are at Second Church in Dorchester, in Codman Square, Dorchester, MA. The coffeehouse is held six times per year.


Overview of Responsibilities

  • Creating and posting content for social media, including live postings at the coffeehouse events

  • Maintain all social media sites

  • Create a marketing plan to engage people

  • Keeping the website updated.

  • Continue developing social media strategy and looking for new social media sites to support the coffeehouse ministry

  • Assist with connecting to churches and community groups

  • Promoting upcoming events on social media

  • Helping to distribute press releases

  • Attending planning meetings


Requirements & Commitment

  • Attend planning meetings and all coffeehouse events

  • Minimum time commitment: 5-10 hours/month

  • Excellent communication skills - written and oral.

  • Proficiency (or willing to learn) in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, & Publisher.

  • Interest in event planning, nonprofits, and the arts.

  • Educational background and/or experience in communications, marketing, public relations, liberal arts, entertainment or the arts preferred.
